Scope and Content Original elevation of north face and section, Falkland House, Fife Falkland House was built as Nuthill House in 1839-44 by William Burn for Onesiphorus Tyndall-Bruce whose wife inherited the Falkland estate. The interior was remodelled by R W Schultz for the Marquis of Bute who had purchased the property in 1887. This drawing shows the north elevation of the main block (left) with a section through the servants block (right). The steps lead up to the main ground-floor entrance. The low windows light the basement which contains kitchens and other service rooms. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
