Scope and Content Detail of carvings, monument to Dame Grizel Stewart, burial aisle, Parish Church, Kilmuir Easter, Highland Kilmuir Easter Parish Church was constructed in its present form in 1797-8 incorporating a pre-existing burial aisle and belfry. The windows and interior were altered in 1903. This the base of the monument to Dame Grizel Stewart who died in 1634. The carvings - spades and bells - are among the normal emblems of mortality associated with funerary monuments. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
