Scope and Content The Roundel, South Street, St Andrews, Fife The Roundel was built in around 1600 as a stair tower for adjacent buildings, supposedly using tombstones from the abbey graveyard. Displayed in the stonework are the arms of Haldenston, a 15th-century prior, probably taken from an earlier building. In the background is the surviving south-west tower of the Abbey church.
