Scope and Content Pre-demolition view of 9-17 High Street, Kinghorn, Fife Kinghorn was a royal burgh by about 1170. It had a weekly market from 1285, but was not represented in parliament until 1470. Much of the burgh was rebuilt in the 19th century when the linen industry brought new prosperity. Number 9-17 High Street was built around the 1760s and demolished in recent times. It was one of many of the High Street's houses dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
