Scope and Content Inverbervie Town-house, Aberdeenshire Inverbervie Town-house was probably rebuilt in the 19th century, though some parts of the building may date to 1720. In 1837 it had a meeting-hall and council-chamber above a vaulted cell and market area. The bellcote was removed in 1965. The original bell was cast by Thomas Mears and inscribed: GIVEN BY PROVOST BARCLAY TO THE BURGH OF BERVIE 1791. It was later exchanged for one from the parish church. This now hangs on the roof and is dated 1792. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
