Scope and Content View of courtyard from the south-west, Cherry Park, Inveraray estate, Argyll and Bute John Adam (1721-92) began work on Cherry Park in 1760 but only one range was roofed before the 3rd Duke of Argyll died in 1761. The 5th Duke commissioned William Mylne (1734-90) to alter and complete the court and it was finished by 1772. To the right is the main entrance into the courtyard. The arch is similar to that on the east front but the impost-bands are shorter. Part of this east range is now used as a garage, although in the past it was used as a store-room and a milk-house. To the left is the north range which is now used as a museum. It was used in the past as a stable and as poultry rooms. All of the ranges have been extensively altered internally.
