Scope and Content Cell-block, Cromarty Court-house, Cromarty, Highland Cromarty Court-house was built in the late 18thc century by George Ross, owner of Cromarty estate, to accommodate the county and burgh councils. The rear cell-block was added in the 1840s. This shows the 1840s cell-block. Each of the three windows lights a single cell. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
