Description General view from SE of two surviving Quinan stoves or drying houses, R18 and R19, latterly gutted and converted for use as narrow-gauge transit sheds. Quinan Stoves were used to dry nitrocotton, and there were originally 36 stoves, arranged in a rectangular 4 by 9 regular grid, all connected by tramway.
