Scope and Content Red leather bound portfolio with marbled covers and label inscribed 'Scotstown House'. Also 23 loose photographs of Shipbuilding Yard and 1 plan of recreation ground at Danes Road, Glasgow.

System of Arrangement Arranged by themes into three main groups: A portfolio of drawings by David Hamilton of Scotstoun House; A collection of photographs of Shipbuilding Yard, Yarrow and Company, 1465 South Street, Glasgow; Plan of recreation ground at Danes Drive, Scotstoun, Glasgow. The Collection has not yet been fully catalogued.

Administrative History David Hamilton (11/5/1768 - 5/12/1843) was a successful and influential architect who designed some of Glasgow's most important buildings including Nelson Monument and Kelvingrove House which is now demolished. He was also a country house designer and in 1823 he executed plans to extended Scotstoun House which was demolished in the 1890s.
