Scope and Content Entrance, Greyfriars Convent (Inverkeithing Museum), Queen Street, Inverkeithing, Fife Greyfriars Convent, a House of Franciscan Friars, was founded about 1350. In 1559 it was sold to John Swinton who probably converted the old guesthouse into a house for himself, and quarried stone from the other buildings. It now serves as a museum. 14th-century details, like the pointed window (right), were restored in 1932-4 when the harling was removed from the walls. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
