Scope and Content Standing stone known as Clach an Trushal, Isle of Lewis, Western Isles Clach an Trushal stands near last few houses that make up the Ballantrushal township. It is reputed to mark the site of a battle. This is a view of the stone. It is quite an impressive example of a standing stone. It leans slightly to the S. A print from the early 19th century shows peat being cut away from the base of the stone. No archaeological finds were reported at this time. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
