Scope and Content Bishopshall, St Leonard's School, St Andrews, Fife St Leonard's School was originally a medieval college. This survived until 1747 when it was merged with St Salvator's College and the buildings were abandoned. In 1881, these were turned into a school. Bishopshall was built in 1867-8 as a university hall of residence. It was owned by Bishop Charles Wordsworth in 1874-87 (hence the name), and bought by the school in 1887.
