Scope and Content Bow Court, Church Street, Inverness, Highland Bow Court was built in about 1725. It was reconstructed in 1972 by William Glashan. The front of the house is harled much as it would have been when it was first built. Much Scottish masonry from the later Middle Ages onwards was harled, that is covered with rough-cast cement to protect it from the weather. This would probably have been painted using locally available pigments. The results could be quite colourful. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
