Scope and Content Broch at Burroughston, Shapinsay, Orkney The Broch of Burroughston stands at the NE tip of Shapinsay. The interior was cleared out during the 1860s. The structure has since been partly restored. This is a view of the interior of the broch. The seaward facing entrance passage can be seen in the centre. The lintel stone is still in place. The well-faced inner wall has been restored. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
