Scope and Content The collection comprises at least 193 photographic prints of buildings across Scotland taken by Scottish Field Picture Agency. The majority of the photographs are dated between 1959 and 1962.
Archive History The main part of the collection was accessioned by the Scottish National Buildings Record around 1962-1966.

Administrative History The Scottish Field Magazine was established in 1903 by John MacMurtie in Glasgow, and it is still being published. Many of the photographs in the collection record the address as 'Scottish Field Picture Agency, 70 Mitchell Lane, Glasgow'. G B Alben, G Alden or J Watt have been named as photographers on some of the photographs.
