Scope and Content A collection of 14 photographic copies of drawings of Logan House, Dumfries and Galloway, showing unexecuted designs, possibly by the architect Sir Robert Smirke, for a new house for Andrew MacDowall. The drawings are not signed or dated but have a watermark of 1816.
Access Conditions There are no restrictions upon access but please contact the archive in advance of a visit.
Administrative History The original drawings were in 'possession of a London dealer' in January 1963 when they were copied by the RIBA, London, who kept the negatives according to information on the mounted prints. The photographic prints were deposited with the Scottish National Buildings Record between 1963-1966.
