Scope and Content Collection of mounted photographic copies and prints covering properties including Yester House, East Lothian; NMRS Melville Street and Coates Place offices, Edinburgh; Old Gala House (Scott Crescent), Galashiels ; Leslie House, Fife; Rowallan House, Kilmarnock; Laurieston Castle, Edinburgh; Moray House, Canongate, Edinburgh; Cowden Castle, Perthshire; Binny House, West Lothian; Roman Catholic church interiors in Morayshire and Banfshire. Images consist largely of photographs and drawings of building exteriors, details of interior furnishings and decorative elements; architects' portraits and personalities.

Administrative History Ian R Gow was born in Edinburgh and educated at George Heriot's School and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he read History of Art. From 1979 he worked as Curator of the Architectural Collections the National Monuments Record of Scotland and in February 1998 was appointed Curator of the National Trust for Scotland. He has written extensively on Scottish architectural history.
