Scope and Content The Spinning Jenny was originally invented in 1770 by James Hargreaves. Bridgend has two Spinning Jennies dating from the 19th century of 102 and 118 spindles respectively. These put a twist into slubs from the Slubbing Billy to produce finished yarn for weaving.
