Scope and Content This image shows the Muirtown Locks on the Caledonian Canal with the swing bridge and part of the Muirtown Basin also visible. Beyond can be seen Merkinch and South Kessock on the west bank of the River Ness as it enters the Beauly Firth. A small fragment of the Kessock Bridge is also visible.
