Scope and Content This is a close view of the UHI campus at Inverness. The UHI Project was created in 1992, comprising the 13 Colleges of Further Education in Highland, Moray and Perthshire and in 2010 it was decided to relocate to a site at Beechwood Farm, which was built in the C19 and raised bulls for breeding purposes. In 2011 UHI was awarded university status as the University of the Highlands and Islands and the campus building was opened in 2015. Investigation ahead of development identified prehistoric remains. The Golden Bridge crosses the A9 at bottom of picture. This was opened in 2013 as a pedestrian link between the campus and the Raigmore estate. The Raigmore (or Stoneyfield) Cairn was originally on the line of the realigned A9 on what is now the southbound slip road, but it was excavated and re-erected in 1973 in the park on the Raigmore Estate among the trees at centre right. The A96 terminates at the Raigmore Interchange at the bottom of the picture. The realigned A9 snakes south from centre bottom to top right. Cradlehall is at top left and Simpson's Garden Centre is at top right. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
