Scope and Content This view focuses on the Bught area of Inverness where the sports facilities for the town are congregated. The Bught Estate was bought by the town in 1923. The Ice Rink, which was built on the site of Bught House and opened in 1968, is at centre left with the Aqua dome, opened 1997, to its right . The Highland Archive and Registration Centre, which was opened in 2009, is above the Ice Rink. The Highland Nurseries and Floral Hall are situated in the walled garden of Bught House, behind the Aqua dome. Tomnahurich cemetery, laid out in 1863, is coming into view on the right of the photo. This photo has been taken when the West Link road was being constructed (2016) and at top right can be seen some construction activity at the site of the new bridge over the River Ness. This bridge has been named Holm Mills Bridge and was opened in 2017. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
