Scope and Content This is a close view of Millburn Academy. The Cameron Barracks are at bottom left and the Millburn Distillery is at bottom centre. Millburn Junior Secondary School opened 1961 and it developed into a 6-year secondary school in 1980s. In 2008 new building was opened, built on the old school playing fields. The Cameron Barracks were built in 1880-1886. The Millburn Distillery was the oldest of Inverness's three distilleries. It was opened in 1807 and closed in 1985 when the main building was converted into a bar and restaurant. It's now a Premier Inn.
