Scope and Content The image shows the major Tore roundabout at the base of the Black Isle. It was completed in 1982 in association with the construction of the Kessock Bridge spanning the Moray Firth north of Inverness, thus bypassing Beauly, Muir of Ord, Conon Bridge. Clockwise from bottom R corner, the five exits from the roundabout are: A832 to Muir of Ord, A835 to Ullapool, A9 North, A832 to Munlocy, A9 South to Inverness. The previous community of Tore was divided by the roundabout. The old post office, smithy and Kilcoy Arms Inn buildings can be seen on the R of the photo, between the A832 and the A9 south.
