Scope and Content This image is a distant view of the green fields of Urchany, comprising the remains of a multi-period settlement spread over four square kilometres. Urchany is spread along the south facing slopes above the Breakachy burn, which flows from the middle L of the photo to the middle bottom. The archaeological record is of scattered farmstead buildings, roofed and unroofed, from 1st & 2nd edition Ordnance Survey maps. This area was extensively surveyed by the North of Scotland Archaeological Society in 2015. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
