Scope and Content This is a general view of Beauly with the River Beauly running at bottom right. Among the many historical sites are the church of the Valliscaulian monastery, established c. 1230 at right of centre. To its left is the former Roman Catholic Primary School, built 1912 and now operating as a museum and visitor centre. Towards the top right is St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church and manse, dated 1864. The Lovat Arms Hotel (1871) and Phipps Institute (1901-3) are at bottom left. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
