Scope and Content This close view of the university campus shows the main building with landscaping. UHI Project was created in 1992, comprising 13 Colleges of Further Education in Highland, Moray and Perthshire and in 2010 it was decided establish a campus on a site at Beechwood Farm. In 2011 UHI was awarded university status as the University of the Highlands and Islands and the campus building was opened in 2015. Investigation ahead of development identified prehistoric remains. Raigmore Hospital is at top right. Raigmore Hospital was established in 1941 and Phase 1 of an upgraded facility was opened in 1971. Phase 2 was opened in 1985, providing wards to replace the old blocks. Inshes Retail Park is at top left. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
