Scope and Content A very close view of Ferry Point Dingwall with Thomas Telford's canal and its small harbour on the left hand side and Harbour House overlooking it. The canal opened in 1819 but was not a commercial success. It ceased to be used by 1889, partly overtaken by the railway that reached Dingwall in 1863. In the top right the 19th century footbridge, replaced in 2020. In the middle of the grassy area on the point is a modern sculpture.
