Scope and Content This is a wide general view of the Hilton area of Inverness. Fairways and Asda on the Southern Distributor Road are at the top of the photo, Culduthel Road runs towards the Southern Distributor Road from centre right and Old Edinburgh Road runs from centre left to bottom right. The building at the centre is Hilton Primary School, opened in 1957, and the large building above that is Hilton Community centre, opened in 1991. Slightly up and to its right Cauldeen Primary School, opened in 1968, can just be seen below the trees. Hilton was a small village on the outskirts of Inverness and developed as a council estate in the 1950s. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
