Scope and Content The Fabrication Yard and oil terminal at Nigg was opened in 1972 and had one of the largest dry docks in Europe for the construction of North Sea oil platforms. There are the remains of saltings in the dry dock. Pitcalzean House was built in 1794 and is now rented as self-catering accommodation.
