Scope and Content Moniack Castle was built in 1580 and in 1978 a winery was opened, producing a range of wines including silver birch, rowanberry and elderberry. A range of liqueurs and jellies was later added. The winery is now (2020) closed. Wester Moniack Farm can be seen to the right of the castle and in the field on its right an enclosure and medieval rig and furrow are recorded. There are also cup marked stones recorded in the area around the castle. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
