On the east side of the A9 is Beechwood Farm, identified as the ideal site for the new UHI campus. This was opened in 2015. Raigmore Hospital is at centre right. Inshes Retail Park is towards top right with the police HQ to its right. The A9 runs from top to bottom of picture and is crossed by the B9006 which was the original line of the A9 before road improvements in the 1970s. The Southern Distributor Road runs off at top right. There are some sites of archaeological interest, including the Raigmore Cairn which was re-erected in 1973 in an area between the hospital and the Lifescan complex.
