Scope and Content The North Face of Ben Nevis is to the right, Climbers Hut in the corrie of the Allt a Mhuilinn. The penstock and pipeline which supplies the hydroelectric plant for a 1930s aluminium smelter is at the bottom right of the picture. Glen Nevis and the Mamores are to the right. The weather observatory at the top of Ben Nevis was operational (and permanently manned from) 1883 to 1916. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
