Scope and Content View of two forts at Dun Dearduil, one below the other. At the top is Canmore ID 12567: Occupying the summit of a cliff-girt ridge named Dun Dearduil is a fort, said by the RCAHMS (Information from RCAHMS to OS 1957) to be vitrified. It is sub rectangular on plan, measuring 26.0m NNE-SSW by a maximum of 15.0m within a tumbled turf-covered wall surviving to an average height of 0.8m. Below and to the W of this fort is: Canmore ID 12569: on the W shoulder of a cliff-girt ridge named Dun Dearduil, and about 80.0m from the fort occupying the summit of the ridge (see NH52SW 2) is another fort, described by Wallace (T Wallace 1910) as a circular enclosure of stones.
