Description Aerial view of Loch Eye and Hill of Fearn, Tarbat Ness, looking NE.

Date 19/2/2012

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number DP 342653

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content To the left is the railway line between Inverness and the North. Fearn railway station opened in 1865 and is near the bend in the line. It is now reduced to one platform, and has a neat arched bridge. Beyond is Loch Eye, which in medieval times was more extensive than it is now. Hill of Fearn is centre right, too distant to note points of interest. Inver Bay and the tip of the Tarbat peninsula are in the far distance. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
