Scope and Content This is a general view of Dingwall and although there are several sites of archaeological interest within the town, only a few can be seen clearly here. The white building at the centre is the new Dingwall Academy which was erected on the sports field of the original Academy building and opened in 2008. To its left is the site of Dingwall Mart which was moved to Humberston Farm in 2003. The site in Dingwall was developed by Tesco. The Dingwall Canal can be seen at bottom left. This was completed in 1819 but was not a commercial success and abandoned in the 1880s. Loch Ussie is towards top left and the ridge of Knockfarril is towards the top and left of centre. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
