Description Near aerial view of the Norbord Factory, Morayhill, E of Inverness.

Date 30/5/2010

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number DP 342187

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content This is a close view of the Norbord Factory established at Morayhill in the 1980s. An archaeological excavation in advance of the building of a bio-mass plant in the field at bottom right uncovered evidence of prehistoric(?) pottery production. Kerrowaird farm is above the A96 on the left. There's evidence of a possible barrow cemetery in this location. The Inverness to Aberdeen railway line runs past the plant at bottom of picture. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
