Date 30/5/2010

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Scope and Content This is a view of Dores at the NE end of Loch Ness. Though Dores has several historic buildings, e.g. the inn and church, they can't be clearly identified in this photograph. The B852 which runs through the village, is on the line of a C18 military road. Loch Ashie can just be seen towards the top of the photograph. Loch Ashie, along with Loch Duntelchaig, supplies Inverness and surrounding district with water. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
