Scope and Content This is a view of the Bught area of Inverness. The Bught Estate was bought by the town in 1923. The photo shows the Ice Rink, opened in 1968, above which is the Aqua dome, opened in 1997, with the Athletics Ground behind. To the left of the Aqua dome is the Floral Hall and Nurseries and below that is the Highland Archive Centre, which was opened in 2009. The Ice Rink was built on the site of Bught House and the Nurseries are in the walled garden. The Caledonian Canal is towards the top of the photo with the Tomnahurich Swing Bridge. On the other side of the Canal is Torvean Golf Course. The River Ness can be seen at the bottom of the photo. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
