Scope and Content This closer view of Aviemore shows the main line railway and station with 3 platforms from the Central belt to Inverness. The station was opened in 1863, and replaced by a new station in 1978. There are numerous Canmore and HER references to the many hotels, including the large white Aviemore 4 Seasons hotel. Aviemore was on the route of General Wade's military Road. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
