Scope and Content This general view of Aviemore shows the River Spey, main line railway from the Central belt to Inverness. The station, in the centre of the photo was opened in 1863, and upgraded in 1978. There are numerous Canmore and HER references to the many hotels, including the large white Aviemore 4 Seasons hotel. Aviemore was on the route of General Wade's military Road. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
