Date 22/1/2010
Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland
Catalogue Number DP 341944
Category On-line Digital Images
Scope and Content A rectangular sheepfold consisting of at least 6 compartments is sited in an area of more irregular walling that links with an earlier system of field walls and broad rigs that extend to N including Canmore 12938/ MHG8911 but is much more extensive than previously recorded and partly shown on current OS mapping. In turn this complex of rigs and field walls appears to postdate a prehistoric settlement of hut circles and clearance cairns. Three possibly four of the probable hut circles are visible here. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
