Scope and Content A general view of the firth with the various structures of the WW1 and WW2 North Sutor Battery extending all round the headland in the lower centre. At the head of the small bay beyond is the Motte of Dunskeath Castle and further military installations with a Submarine Mine Depot and a Country House which served as a WW1 Military Hospital both located just below Nigg Dock and Marine Fabrication Yard in the centre right. Directly opposite on the far left is the Burgh of Cromarty with its harbour visible just beyond the point of the peninsula. In the upper right the Aluminium Works Jetty at Invergordon with the Harbour and other naval facilities just beyond. Across the narrows to the left lies Newhall point with further military installations. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
