Scope and Content A general view of Portmahomack with the Free Church centre right behind the caravans. Below and a little right are the Free Church Manse and above it on a triangle of grass the War Memorial. Above that, surrounded by a large burial ground the old Parish Church, now Tarbat Discovery Centre, housing many of the carved Pictish stones from the former Pictish Monastery which have been found within the church, churchyard and elsewhere in the village. Above that and a little right are the former parish Manse and walled garden. The harbour is In the upper left with two fine storehouses built in the 17th and 18th centuries on the quayside. They are within the conservation area which mainly extends to the right and includes several other buildings of note.
