Scope and Content This view shows the 19th century spa town of Strathpeffer with its Pump Room, its Pavilion and Gardens and its many hotels. The town was the terminus of a branch line railway and still has a well preserved railway station (Canmore ID 12460). The town also has a Class 1 Pictish stone (Canmore ID 12458) and an ancient church and cemetery (Canmore ID 12405). The golf course with its clubhouse (Canmore ID 108905) and Loch Kinellen with its crannog (Canmore ID 12467) are on the right of the view. Beyond in the distance are the flat alluvial agricultural lands of lower Strathconon. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
