Scope and Content This view shows in the foreground, a modern causeway to a landing stage, used for loading off shore pipes associated with the oil industry. The town of Alness is seen on the left and that of Invergordon in the centre. Newhall Point and Balblair on the Black Isle is seen on the right with the N and S Sutors of Cromarty beyond. Dalmore Pier (Canmore ID 13641) known locally as the Yankee Pier and associated with a WW1 US Naval Base is seen at the centre of the left half of the view.
