Scope and Content This is a view of the SNH building near Craig Dunain, Inverness. It was named Great Glen House and built on the site of a former nurses' home at Wester Craigs. The building has won many awards for design and energy efficiency, including sustainable building of the year, 2006. The construction used recycled and green materials and staff moved in in 2006. SNH is to be rebranded as Nature Scot from May 2020. The photo also shows the Northern Counties and District Lunatic Asylum, known locally as Craig Dunain and the hospital church, laundry and chimney.
