Scope and Content This is a view of the Moray Firth with Chanonry Point in the foreground and, looking SW towards the Kessock Bridge and Loch Ness with the familiar lump of Meall fuar Mhonaidh on its western side. Alturlie Point can be seen on the south side of the Firth. Fortrose is in the distance with its cathedral and associated buildings and Rosemarkie is the nearer community. This village has a parish church with several sculpted stones, the remains of a monastic settlement and a moot hill. On the shoreline running NE there are several caves which have been the focus of excavation. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
