Scope and Content One third of the way up on the right hand edge of the image is the location of the Battle of Lon na Fala (the Meadow of Blood) between the Macdonnells of Glengarry and the Mackenzies of Ross-shire in 1602. Canmore and HER records are identical and both mention a ruined farmstead about 200m NE of the Battle Site. The prominent hill of Meall Fuar-Mhonaidh, on the NW side of Loch Ness, is in the background. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
