Scope and Content This view shows the remains of Ormond castle (fort), possibly early Iron age. It was destroyed by Cromwell's army in 1650. Only foundations remain, but the outer defences following the contour of the hill are visible and the rectangular out line of the buildings on the summit. It is now a scheduled monument.
