Scope and Content This view shows Fearn abbey and burial ground, Fearn School house and Fearn farm in the foreground. Then the village of Hill of Fearn, the B9166 and Loch Eye and the Dornoch Firth in the back ground. Medieval Fearn Abbey was founded in c. 1221, but transferred to present site c. 1238. It has been rebuilt several times and is now a simple oblong with no traces of the cloisters existing. Part is used as a Parish Church. Hill of Fearn village has a Market stance and war memorial.
